Delete Stripe Funding Method

Remove a registered Stripe funding method from a user.

Available to: All authenticated users

Rate Limit: 20 requests per hour, 3-second back-off, counts all requests

Send NinjaTrader’s numeric stripeFundingMethodId — the id returned by stripeFundingMethodDependents, not Stripe’s string pm_... PaymentMethod identifier. The two are not interchangeable.

The method is detached from Stripe and archived on the NinjaTrader side; the stored Stripe identifier is cleared. Deposits already made with the method are unaffected. When the removed method was the user’s last remaining one, their Stripe customer record is removed as well.

The user is emailed to say the card was unlinked.

Warning: An empty errorText does not prove a method was removed. A stripeFundingMethodId that resolves to no funding method returns an empty errorText, exactly like a successful removal. Confirm by re-reading stripeFundingMethodDependents rather than by inspecting this response.

Removal is not reversible through the API. To fund with the same card again, register it from scratch with addStripeDebitCard, including a fresh account-name inquiry. The wallet flow is unaffected, because it never creates a saved funding method.

Common Failure Scenarios

  • The funding method belongs to another user
  • Stripe rejects the detach request, or is unreachable
  • The method was already removed in an earlier call
